clang-tidy-3.8 software package provides clang-based C++ linter tool, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clang-tidy-3.8
clang-tidy-3.8 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the clang-tidy-3.8 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep clang-tidy-3.8 *
You will get with clang-tidy-3.8 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
